The short version: Nox doesn't ask you to log in, doesn't store your conversations, and only remembers things on your own device — never on our servers.

What Nox is

Nox is a free, general-purpose AI assistant made by Devseis. It's an AI system, not a real person, and its replies are generated by an open-source language model — they can be wrong, and Nox isn't a substitute for professional medical, legal, or mental health advice.

The model behind Nox

Nox's text replies are generated by Llama 3.2 (3B parameters), an open-source language model created by Meta, run through Cloudflare Workers AI. When you attach an image, it's analysed by LLaVA 1.5 (7B parameters), an open-source vision-language model, run through the same Cloudflare infrastructure. These are small, efficient models — that keeps Nox fast and free, but they can occasionally get things wrong, be inconsistent, or misunderstand context, the same as any AI model.

Attachments (images, PDFs, and text files)

Nox lets you attach a file to your message:

As with typed messages, none of this is saved in any database on our side.

What happens to what you type

When you send a message (or an attachment), it's sent to our backend (running on Cloudflare Workers) to generate a reply, then sent back to your browser. We do not save the content of your conversations in any database — nothing is logged or retained beyond what's needed to generate that one reply. Starting a "New chat" or closing the tab clears everything.

We do keep a couple of numbers: a running count of total messages sent today (to enforce the free daily usage limit) and a count of how many distinct browsers chatted with Nox today. That second count uses a random, anonymous ID generated in your browser and stored only in your local storage — it's not linked to your name, email, or any other identity, and it resets to a new value if you clear your browser storage.

Cloudflare, our infrastructure provider

Nox runs on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare Workers AI. Cloudflare processes requests as part of operating that infrastructure, the same way any hosting provider does. We don't control Cloudflare's own infrastructure-level logging — see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details on how they handle that.

What's stored on your device

Your browser's local storage (never sent to us) is used for exactly two things:

Clearing your browser storage resets both. We have no way to see or access this data.

A safety note

If a message suggests you might be in crisis, Nox is built to respond with real support resources (like SOS Détresse in Luxembourg) instead of just chatting normally. Nox is still an AI — if you're in immediate danger, please contact emergency services (112) directly.
